Volunteer at Events or as a Fundraiser
Rainbows supports around 750 babies, children and young people, throughout the East Midlands, each year; but the annual statutory funding we receive would only keep Rainbows open for 7 weeks. Therefore, our Community Fundraisers and Event Support Volunteers play a vital role in helping us to, quite literally, keep our doors open.

What is involved?
With over 100 fundraising events and activities each year, there are lots of different ways you could help us raise vital money to help us brighten short lives – Whether that is bucket collecting, registration, marshalling, cheer stations or helping set up and take down- there really is something for everyone.
Not only is it a great opportunity to connect with a range of different people; they are our most flexible volunteering roles, allowing volunteers to choose events and activities which fit around their schedule and commitments.

Meet Becky, one our Fundraising Volunteers
“I started volunteering with Rainbows when I was asked by a friend to help out. After finding out how much they need to raise, and seeing firsthand the work they do, I decided I wanted to get involved. I am a singer and raise money for Rainbows by performing outside shops and putting on occasional events.
I have multiple chronic illnesses and seeing the impact that Rainbows has on the children under their care, especially when talking to some of the families while I’ve been out raising money, has pushed me to do more and more for the charity where I can, using my love of singing for a purpose.
If anyone was thinking about volunteering for Rainbows, I would say absolutely go for it, it’s such an amazing charity and the work they do is irreplaceable.”
