Women join Rainbows for a birthday party
30 September 2014
Dungarees and Tie-dye were out in force on Saturday night (27th) as Leicestershire ladies stepped back to the 90s and strolled five miles around the streets of Loughborough.
More than 100 ladies were taking part in the Moonlight Walk, organised by Rainbows. And because we are celebrating 20 years of care, we asked supporters to time hop back to 1994 – the year the hospice was officially opened.
As well as the walk, the ladies were treated to a midnight feast, a TLC bus on route and music from 1994 before they set off.
Katie Baxter, head of community and events at Rainbows, said: “It was fantastic to see so many ladies coming out on a Saturday night to support our hospice. There were some fabulous outfits and everyone made a real effort to get into the 1990s party spirit. On behalf of our children, young people and families, I would like to say a huge thank you; your support really does make a difference.”
