Midlands Lotus Owners Club raises over £10,000 for Rainbows

Members from the Midlands Lotus Owners Club revved over to Rainbows to showcase some of the cars and present £10,380.

At the end of last month, Ray Addicott, Dean Bower and Phil Stone arrived at our hospice with two of their sports cars. They were met by our children, young people and staff.

The club, which has members from all across the Midlands, has spent the year raising funds in a variety of ways. The main fundraising event was Lotus in the Peak at Chatsworth House, which brought together the largest gathering of Lotus cars in the world this year.

Ray, of Beeston, said: “This is the second time we have been to Rainbows and the visit went really well. Everyone seemed so pleased to see us. We have chosen to support Rainbows because of the wonderful work they do and when you are at the hospice, you can see how dedicated everyone is. It is a great charity.

“Lotus in the Peak was a great event and it was held at Chatsworth due the kindness of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. We also held a successful auction.”

Clare Wainwright, Rainbows Community Fundraiser, added: “We can’t thank the Midlands Lotus Owners Club enough for this donation, it is incredible. And bringing the cars to the hospice was wonderful for our children and young people, as well as our staff. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of groups like these.”
