Melton charity shop holds open days for volunteers

The Rainbows Shop in Melton is holding a series of open days to recruit new volunteers.

The popular store, located at 35 Sherrard Street, will hold open days on Thursday 5th and Friday 13th November, between 10am and 4pm, where budding volunteers can have a go at dressing the displays, trying out the tills and delving through donations.

The Rainbows Shop helps raise vital funds for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. The hospice provides care and support to children and young people with terminal and life limiting conditions from across the East midlands.

Lucinda Hardy, Manager of the Melton Mowbray Rainbows Shop, said: “We’re looking for new volunteers to come and help us in the shop.  It doesn’t matter if you’re aged 16 or 116, if you have any experience or not, we’ll provide you with all the training you need.”

She continued: It’s a great was to keep busy, meet new people and learn new skills too. It’s a really friendly team and there’s always something to do – it’s never boring here at the Melton Rainbows Shop!”
