Kilworth raises almost £70k for Rainbows

A Leicestershire hotel and theatre has raised the roof for us with a donation of £69,365.

Kilworth House Hotel and Theatre adopted the hospice in 2014 as its Charity of the Year, a partnership which has spanned across two years.

A range of fundraising has been taking place with one of the big money-makers being the open air theatre at Kilworth. To combat those chilly summer evenings, Kilworth hired out its red blankets to theatre goers which raised £7,000 alone. And voluntary addition of £1 to restaurant bills raised over £8,000.

Owners Celia and Richard Mackay were delighted to hand over the donation to us.

Celia said: “We want to thank all of our guests once again for their wholehearted support of the fundraising for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, a wonderful local charity that fully deserves the support of all the people of the East Midlands.”

Andrew Ball, Director of Income Generation at Rainbows, added: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at Kilworth House Hotel and Theatre over the last two years. I know a lot of hard work has gone in to raising the funds for Rainbows and on behalf of all of the children, young people and their families, I would like to thank them for their incredibly kind donation. I would also like to extend that thanks to everyone in the community who has contributed to Kilworth’s fundraising.”
