Join in the fun at a Rainbows Santa Run!

Rainbows is calling on budding Father Christmases to don their red suits and take on one of this year’s spectacular Santa Runs. Men, women and children of all ages can take part in their choice of three ‘Santas on Run’ events taking place across the region in December:

  • Rushcliffe Park, Nottingham on Sunday 6th December
  • Loughborough Market Place, Loughborough on Sunday 6th December
  • Elvaston Castle, Derby on Sunday 13th December

Santas can choose between 2.2 mile and 5 mile routes at the various locations, with runs starting at 11am.

The Nottingham event also features a special Children’s Christmas Treasure Trail. Costing just £1 to enter, anyone taking part in the main event can bring along their children under the age of eight to take part in the Treasure Trail made up of a short course around the pond at Rushcliffe County Park. Organised by Ruddington Day Nursery, the Treasure Trail starts at 10.15am.

Last year’s ‘Santas on the Run’ events helped raise thousands of pounds for the hospice, which cares for over 350 children and young people with terminal and life limiting conditions from Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Colleagues from the hospice have formed Team Rainbows and will be taking part in the Santa Run series.

Dannii Donovan, a family support worker and member of Team Rainbows, said: “The Santa Runs are great fun, especially when you’re doing it with family, friends or colleagues! We have several festive events across the East Midlands, so we’d love for people in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire to sign up to their local run.  You can run or walk and choose to do between 2.2 or 5 miles – it’s entirely up to you, but it’s all for a great cause.”

Entry in to the Santa Run starts from just £12.50 for adults or £6.50 for under 16s and includes a Santa suit, free on collection. To register, visit www.rainbows.co.uk/christmas
