British National Champion swimmer makes a splash at Rainbows

British National Champion swimmer, Luke Ibbeson, made a splash at Rainbows as he opened our revamped Hydrotherapy Pool.

The pool, which has been closed to undergo a refurbishment, is an invaluable facility at our hospice, not only for physiotherapy but as a place where families can make memories and have fun times. As well as a makeover, families can now enjoy new floating sensory lights, a projector to enhance the visual sensory experience, a restored jacuzzi and a new sound system.

Luke (21), who is studying for his Masters degree in International Security at Loughborough University, and attended as a representative of Loughborough University Swimming, was delighted to cut the ribbon. He said: “The new pool is absolutely fantastic. As a swimmer myself, I know that memories are made in a pool and for Rainbows to be able to give babies, children and young people that experience, in that environment, is really amazing.”
