Swithland Show will be taking place on Saturday 12th September in aid of Rainbows Hospice and other local charities. Do pop along and visit, there’s lots to see throughout all of the various exhibits at The Griffin Inn – Swithland and Swithland School. Stonehurst Farm support us from their monthly Car Shows from April – September, pop along to the farm, see the cars and enjoy Stonehurst’s Hog Roast and Bar on the evening too!There’s no ticket price to attend the car show, just a donation on entry to Rainbows by cash or card.

Tuesday 27 October – Friday 30 October – The Diary of Anne Frank – Mountsorrel, LE12 7DB

The Festival Players are back with their next performance, The Diary of Anne Frank. They will kindly be supporting Rainbows from collections at the end of their shows.Based on teenager Anne Frank’s famous diary the play gives a stirring insight into the lives of people persecuted under Nazi rule in WW2 occupied Europe,. In this stage adaptation Anne emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young woman, who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her times with astonishing honesty, wit and determination.
Following their successful productions of The 39 Steps, Blood Brothers, Calendar Girls, The Haunting & Cluedo The Festival Players are back at MMC with this impassioned drama about the lives of eight people in hiding, the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence and their fear, their hope, their laughter and their grief……
