Youngsters acts of kindness

Youngsters at a Derbyshire nursery took part in an Act of Kindness Day and raised £335 for our hospice.

A total of 39 children at Oak House Nursery, in Mickleover, were involved in the special day in June.

The little ones, aged from 18-months to four-years-old took part in a sponsored sports day and created their own medals.

Emily Waez, Assistant Nursery Manager, said: “We were all delighted to be supporting such a wonderful charity and it was fantastic to be able to encourage the children to do things to help others.

“After a talk from charity was given to us, we as a nursery wanted to do something that would help support the children of Rainbows. The pre-school children took a huge interest in the story of Rainbows and continued to ask many questions. They understood that by their participation in the activities and raising money, we could actively help such a worthy cause. I would like to thank all of the parents and staff for their support.”
