World Cup Revival at Rainbows Fun Day

World Cup Revival at Rainbows Fun Day
Issue date: 2nd July 2010

The drama of the World Cup will live on, when Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People holds its annual Family Fun Day on Sunday 1st August.

Sponsored by 3M, there will be exciting events for all the family and the colourful afternoon will include a soccer village where young hopefuls can show off their skills and take part in a keepy-upy contest, with footballs as prizes.

A hot air balloon, laser wars dome, inflatable sumo wrestling and a myriad other attractions will grace the fields at Loughborough Grammar School, from 12pm – 5pm.

As well as stage entertainment there’s even a circus school and those who fancy themselves as a latter day Robin Hood can have a go at archery.

Rainbows Community and Events Manager, Katie Baxter said: “We are aiming to make this a great day for all the family. For mums we have a Craft Village, for the children there are rides and inflatables, while dads will perhaps appreciate the CAMRA Real Ale tent.

“There’s crazy golf, a barbecue and many other attractions, and we’ve tried to ensure there are lots of activities to interest everyone.”

Tickets cost £3 per person, while children under 14 can go and have fun absolutely free.
