Children’s hospice gives Loughborough theatre group standing ovation for donation

A Loughborough theatre group is bringing the house down raising more than £16,000 for Rainbows.

Since 2017, we have been applauding The Festival Players for their contributions which have been raised through bucket collections, social events and donations made following the shows. Members have also been doing their own fundraising by taking part in our Derby Abseil, the Great North Run and will be taking part in our Loughborough Santa Run on Sunday.

Nick Grainger, Artistic Director for The Festival Players, said: “Since 2017 everyone at The Festival Players has been delighted that we have been able to support Rainbows whenever we mount a production. It’s been a privilege to be able to support such a wonderful organisation whilst participating in the pastime that we love. May our association with Rainbows continue for many more years.”

Gary Farnfield, Rainbows Community Fundraiser, added: “The Festival Players certainly deserve an encore for all of their incredible fundraising. We can’t thank them, and the people who watch the shows, enough for their support. We rely on groups such as The Festival Players to enable us to provide our vital services to so many families who need us.”

The next upcoming show for the theatre group, will be The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Loughborough Town Hall in February 2024.
