Step back to the roaring 20s for Rainbows Glamour and Glitz Ball

We want party goers in Leicestershire to sparkle with pizzazz for our Glamour and Glitz Ball.

The event, held at the Athena on Saturday 11 October, promises to be full of laughter as guests are entertained by award winning comedian and ventriloquist Nina Conti.

Snooker legend and Rainbows Patron, Willie Thorne, will be the host for the evening which will have a Roaring 20s theme to tie in with our 20th birthday celebrations, which are taking place this year.

Katie Baxter, head of community and events at Rainbows, said: “This is a very special year for us as we are celebrating 20 years of care so we wanted to organise a very special event.

“To tie in with the 20s theme, we thought it would be great to give the ball a 1920s theme. The dress code is formal wear with the option of 1920s attire, so anyone wanting to dress as a gangster or a flapper and show off their Charleston moves, is most welcome!

“Over the last 20 years, we’ve helped thousands of terminally ill and life-limited children, young people and their families, through the toughest days of their lives. Right now, we’re caring for more than 300 children and young people – that’s more than ever before and we really do need your support.”

Tickets for the ball, which is sponsored by Morningside Pharmaceuticals, are £50, which includes a three course dinner and a welcome drink. For more information, contact 0800 952 1133 or visit www.rainbows.co.uk/ball
