Roseacre colleagues take on challenge for Rainbows
Colleagues from a Leicestershire pub company are taking on a 100km running challenge to raise money for Rainbows.
In May, nine employees from Roseacre Pub Company, will aim to complete the Jurassic Coast Ultra in just one day as part of its partnership with our charity.
The fundraising doesn’t stop at this gruelling challenge as efforts continue widespread. For the last two years, all 10 restaurants in the chain have been supporting us and have raised over £44,000 to date.
Each site has a Rainbows ambassador, and activities have included raffles, bake sales, quiz nights, carol concerts, fundays and Christmas and spring markets. Staff have also taken part in a 24-hour cycle on exercise bikes as well as joining our It’s a Knockout and Total Wipeout events.
Roseacre also sponsors our mascot, Bow Bear, and every menu has an item that donates £1 to us.
Ash Gartshore, owner of Roseacre Pub Company, said: “We had been talking for some time about partnering with a local charity and doing something that could truly make a difference. So, when the corporate team at Rainbows reached out to us, it almost felt like fate.
“After visiting the hospice and seeing firsthand the wonderful work Rainbows does, we instantly knew they were the right charity for us. The care, compassion, and support they provide is nothing short of incredible.
“At the beginning, we set ourselves small goals – simple ideas to raise some money and show our support. But over time, our relationship with Rainbows has grown, and so have our ambitions.
“Now, the sky really is the limit. We’re determined to raise enough money to help make truly groundbreaking changes and create a lasting impact for the children and families who rely on Rainbows.”
Roseacre has over 300 employees at its restaurants in Narborough, Broughton Astley, Whetstone, Countesthorpe, Peatling Parva, Ashby-De-La-Zouch, Abbots Oak and Mount Sorrell. There are also sites in Binley Woods and Leamington Spa.
Rebecca Starmer, Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Rainbows, said: “What everyone at Roseacre has done for us is absolutely incredible and we simply can’ thank them enough. They are always looking at new and fun ways to support Rainbows, and everyone is really keen to be involved.
“As the East Midlands only hospice for babies, children and young people, we rely on the support of our corporates, and we couldn’t raise the £8.5 million we need each year to provide our care at the hospice, at home and in hospitals.
“Thank you also to all of their customers for being part of their fundraising journey; we look forward to hearing about what Roseacre will be doing next.”
