Rainbows launches Nottingham’s first ever Rainbow Run

The happiest 5k is on its way to Nottingham as we launch the city’s first ever colour run.

The Rainbow Run will take place at the Forest Recreation Ground on Sunday 4 May from 11am. Participants will experience an explosion of colour as they make their way around the 5k circuit, getting showered with brightly coloured powder.

The crazy, colourful day will raise vital funds for us. Katie Baxter, community and events manager at Rainbows, said: “We want as many people to come along wearing a white t-shirt, and running gear they don’t mind getting messy, and we guarantee they will leave with a smile and every colour of the rainbow!

“You don’t even have to run. It’s not about speed or fitness, it’s about celebration, having crazy fun with friends and raising a smile for your local children’s hospice.

“This is the first event of this kind to happen in Nottingham and we need the community to sign up. We are also delighted to have the support of Capital FM’s Drivetime presenters Claire and Tom, who will be at the event.”

As well as participants, we also need volunteers armed with coloured powder to throw at the runners as they make their way through the colour stations.

Entry for the event, which is supported by Capital FM, is £10. For more information, visit http://www.rainbows.co.uk/rainbowrun/
