There will be no messing about on the river for our staff whose oars are poised ready to take on the Nottingham Riverside Festival Dragon Boat Challenge.

Pictured training in the hydrotherapy pool at the hospice are (l-r) Tom Stanyard, Di Banks, Alex Johnstone and Andy Lupton – who are all part of the crew “Somewhere over the Rain-boat”.

“Somewhere Over the Rain-boat” is one of up to 50 crews from all over the East Midlands who will battle it out over the 200m race course on the River Trent at Victoria Embankment.

We are the official charity partner for the event on Sunday 7 August. Last year more than £23,000 was raised and organisers, Gable Events, hope to smash that target this year.
