Melton Mayor skydives for Rainbows

The Mayor of Melton will do his first parachute jump on his 71st birthday to raise funds for Rainbows.

Councillor Malise Graham will jump 10,000ft from an aeroplane, with five family members, with the aim of raising £5,000 for us.

His wife, Pam, their daughters, Bella, Porge and Vicky, and son-in-law, James, will be joining him in the challenge in the skies above Langar Airfield on Monday (23rd).

Pam and Bella did a skydive 25 years ago when Malise was last Mayor – raising £5,000 for us – but this time he has decided to join them, having lost a stone in weight to be fit enough to take part.

Gary Farnfield, Rainbows Community Fundraiser, added: “For Malise and his family to take on this challenge is an incredible feat. We couldn’t run our hospice without our fundraisers and on behalf of everyone at Rainbows, I wish them the best of luck.”

Malise is also the Chair of Melton Friends of Rainbows Group, which has been supporting families of the hospice since 1994.
