Midlands Lotus Owners Club delight Rainbows with car display and £4k donation

Members of the Midlands Lotus Owners Club visited Rainbows to showcase its cars and donate £4,060.

Club member Ray Addicott said: “We had a great day going to Rainbows, everyone enjoyed it. We brought along some of our Lotus cars and the staff and children loved coming out to see them, it is really nice to see the smiles on their faces.

“Rainbows does such amazing work for babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions and we love to support such a wonderful charity.”

The money was raised at the group’s annual ‘Lotus in the Peak’ event, which involved around 220 cars. Raffle tickets were sold and there was a mini auction.

“Due to the generosity of the Lotus businesses, we have some very good raffles and prizes that give us a good sum of money,” said Ray. “We are very pleased to be able to help, we are doing something we enjoy, and Rainbows is benefiting from it.

Clare Wainwright, Rainbows Community Fundraiser, added: “We are so thankful for the overwhelming support Lotus has provided us with. Their generous donation and Lotus cars brought so much joy to the babies, children, young people and staff of our hospice provided them with an unforgettable experience.”
