Leicestershire ladies needed for a moonlit party

We want women in Leicestershire to take a trip back to 1994 for this year’s Loughborough Moonlight Walk.

We are calling on mums, daughters and sisters alike to help celebrate our 20th birthday by going retro and strolling five miles around the streets of Loughborough.

In an era that bought us Pulp Fiction; The Flintstones; Four Weddings and a Funeral; Cheryl Crow; Tiffany Mitchell and Bianca Jackson, we wants people to get into the party spirit and dress as film characters, singers or TV stars from 1994.

The women only sponsored walk, on Saturday 27 September, starts at Loughborough Endowed Schools in Burton Walk. The party starts at 8pm and the ladies will begin their walk around Loughborough town centre at 10pm. Women taking on the moonlight adventure will be treated to a midnight feast after the walk at a celebration party.

Last year more than 150 people took part raising over £12,000.

Katie Baxter, community and events manager at Rainbows, said: “Last year’s Moonlight Walk was a resounding success and this year, we want to make it bigger and better. Because we are celebrating 20 years of care, what better way to party than by taking everyone back to 1994. Of course fancy dress is optional but there are many great looks you could go for if you did decide to step back in time.

“This event is a really fun way of supporting the hospice, spending time with the girls and raising funds for Rainbows. So, tell all of your girlie friends and relatives and come and join us for what promises to be a fantastic evening.”

Although this is a ladies only event, men are needed to volunteer their services by helping out with marshalling and refreshments.

Entry is £12. For more information, contact 0800 9521133, email [email protected] or visit www.rainbows.co.uk/moonlightloughborough
