A father and son team, whose ambition has been to ride the length of the UK, have accomplished their goal.

Geoff Collett (66) and his son Ryan (40) took 12 days to cycle the 874 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in June. Between them, they smashed their fundraising target and raised £1,864 for Rainbows.

Ryan said: “We had a fantastic 12-day cycle trip from Land’s End to John O’Groats. It was tough in parts but with the charity in the back of my mind, we got through the hard days. We burnt about 50,000 calories, climbed 15,000m and covered 985 miles. It was a truly amazing ride with the other 25 people that took part. In total everyone raised close to £100,000 for different deserving causes. We wish Rainbows all the best for the future and will always spread the good Rainbows does.”
