Fancy joining us for a spot of celebrity lunch?

Nicky Morgan MP and Paralympian Australian swimmer Elizabeth Wright are the guest speakers at our Celebrity Luncheon.

The event, which raises thousands for us, will take place on Friday 8 April at Leicester Tigers Stadium. Before becoming an MP, long-standing Rainbows supporter Nicky studied Law at Oxford and spent 16 years working in corporate law. She was first selected for the Loughborough Seat in 2004 and has held a number of high profile positions including Chief Whip and Economic Secretary to the Treasury. Now, as Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women & Equalities, Nicky will be talking about her journey, her passions in life and what it’s like to be a woman in the world of politics.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Elizabeth was born with Congenital Limb Deficiency. At the age of 13, she set a goal of swimming in the Paralympic Games. She achieved this feat three years later, competing at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games, picking up a bronze medal in the process. Elizabeth went on to secure a bronze and silver in Sydney in 2000. Now living in the UK, she has built a career as an inspirational speaker and is also the co-founder of the schools programme Resilience, Wellbeing, Success, which helps children develop lifelong skills for good mental and physical health.

At the event, guests will also enjoy a three course meal with the chance to peruse and purchase from unique stalls.

Dana Simons, Appeal Manager, said; “We have two wonderful speakers this year and it promises to be an inspiring event, we do hope people will join us. Lunch, shopping and entertainment with friends, while raising money for such a worthwhile cause is an occasion not to be missed.”

The event takes place from 11am to 3.30pm and tickets cost £37.50. To book a place visit www.rainbows.co.uk/luncheon
