Duchess of Rutland sends Christmas message to Rainbows supporters

The Duchess of Rutland has sent a festive message to the supporters of Rainbows.

In her video, Emma Manners, the Duchess – who is the President of our charity – wishes our supporters a very happy Christmas and urges them to support our festive appeal

The Duchess said: “This year has been extremely difficult for Rainbows and their families. Because of Covid, Rainbows has had to cancel virtually all of its fundraising events this year, which are so crucial in helping it raise the funds they need to help support families who desperately rely on its dedicated team to get them through the most difficult of times, especially at Christmas.

“At the hospice, because of Covid, there have been many changes too. Rainbows has adapted its care for its families and is still offering vital services. It is also proud to continue to support the NHS during these difficult times. No matter what is going on in the world, the team at Rainbows is doing everything it can to make Christmas as special for its families as possible, at the hospice, at home and out in the community.

“This Christmas, if you are able to donation, please support Rainbows’ Christmas Appeal and give whatever you can to make a real difference to a family. It is only with your help we can make sure Rainbows can still be here for years to come.”

We need help to pay for the costs of care that our incredible team provide to children and their families. It costs £69 for one of our Family Support Workers to drive out and spend a couple of hours with a family who are struggling at home alone. They’re there to answer questions, give advice and support to give them the best chance of coping over Christmas.
An hour of expert nursing care over the holidays, giving a child peace during their final days, will cost £36.
