Vote for Rainbows at Tesco this week!

Rainbows is urging people in across the region to vote to help them win a grant of up to £12,000 to transform the approach to the hospice.

Supporters will be able to vote for Rainbows to receive funding from Bags of Help – an initiative run by Tesco in partnership with Groundwork in hundreds of regions across England and Wales. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.

The public can vote for Rainbows from Saturday 27th February to Sunday 6th March at the following stores: Tesco Extra in Loughborough; Tesco Superstores in the Rushes in Loughborough and in Melton Mowbray; Tesco Metro in Syston and Tesco Express stores in Sileby, Birstall, Shepshed, Loughborough and Nottingham Road in Melton Mobwbray.

With the funding, Rainbows plans to update and rejuvenate the approach leading to the hospice, making it more welcoming and secure for our families.

Helen Graham, Grants & Trusts Officer at Rainbows, said: “We’re delighted to have made it through to the final stage of the process. All we need now is for supporters in the local area to pop in to their nearest Tesco store and vote for us to help make a real difference!”

She continued, “The approach to the hospice hasn’t been updated since we opened over 20 years ago in 1994. This money will help us create an approach that is warm, friendly and secure for the families who visit us and need our help at the most difficult of times. “We can only do what we do because of you. So, while you’re doing you’re shopping at Tesco this weekend and throughout the week, please take a minute to vote for Rainbows. Thank you.”
