Rainbows Wing Walk
Brand new for 2026, take to the skies like never before with our thrilling wing walk experience! Strap in and feel the rush out on the wing as you stand right on the edge of an unforgettable adventure. With the wind roaring past and breathtaking views all around, this is your chance to experience pure adrenaline and total freedom. The aircraft will soar between 100ft and 700ft, reaching exhilarating speeds of 80mph to 110mph, delivering a heart-pounding ride that will stay with you forever. Bold, breathtaking, and absolutely unforgettable — this is not just a flight, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
What can I expect on the day of my wing walk?
- A warm welcome by The Wing Walk Company Team
- A 15 minute briefing video which shows you; how to climb up to the rig, what to expect from your Wing Walk and Health and Safety procedures.
- Please allow 2 hours between your health & safety briefing and completing your Wing Walk
- A 10 minute airborne flight
- Opportunity to tailor your flight with the Pilot to either achieve the maximum adrenaline experience for you or a more relaxed flight
- A certificate to confirm the completion of your Wing Walk Experience
Please note that all participants must meet the following criteria:
- Aged 18-80
- Weigh under 89kg (14st)
- Be no taller than 189cm (6ft 2inches)

How to sign up:
- Registration is £140
- Minimum fundraising target is £800* (excluding Gift Aid)
- A video package is available at an additional cost of £50 which can be paid directly to The Wing Walk Company on the day.
* We require participants to have raised £400 sponsorship one month before the event.

What’s included?
When you take part in the Rainbows Wing Walk, we’ll be with you every step of the way to help with your fundraising. You will receive:
- A dedicated member of the fundraising team to support you
- A fundraising guide, as well as fundraising advice, hints and tips in the build up to the event
- A branded Rainbows cotton t-shirt for the big day
- Access to a range of Rainbows fundraising materials (collection boxes, posters, balloons etc.) to make any events you hold look amazing

Can I fly with a medical condition?
The Wing Walker will be required to sign a declaration of fitness at the briefing.
If the Wing Walker suffers from high blood pressure, epilepsy, fainting, blackouts / dizziness, heart or lung disease you cannot participate. If your medical condition is being managed; you may be able to participate and should discuss this with your GP / Consultant and provide proof of this before you fly. If the Wing Walker suffers from drug or alcohol addiction, mental health issues, or are pregnant they will not be able to participate.

What if I don’t meet the health and safety standards on the day?
On the day of your Wing Walk you will be weighed; if you are over 89kgs (14st) or taller than 6ft 2inches (189cm); due to the rules set by the Civil Aviation Authority, you will not able to Wing Walk and Rainbows will still be charged for the booking. Or, if you wish a friend or family member can do the wing walk on your behalf.

What happens if the weather is bad and we can’t fly?
The Wing Walk Company cannot fly in strong winds and rain. Their Chief Pilot checks the forecast regularly; please ring 07594987433 at 12.00 the day before your experience to confirm if your flight is going ahead of not. If they are forced to cancel your flight due to bad weather, then Rainbows will communicate the new date with you, please do not contact The Wing Walk Company or the Airfield directly.

What is appropriate clothing for my wing walk?
The Wing Walker must wear tight fitted clothing, (e.g. leggings) and laced trainers. Hoodies & Jeans are prohibited. If the wing walker arrives and is not appropriately dressed we will provide alternative clothing to ensure they meet the necessary requirements.
Goggles and earplugs are compulsory to wear and are provided by the Wing Walk Company on the day.
Hijabs can be work you just need to make sure that it is on tightly so that it doesn’t fall off. The Wing Walk team can support you on the day.
Fancy dress costumes can be worn as long as they adhere to the guidelines above.

Can I wear contact lenses or glasses?
Due to the wind and the high speeds reached, unfortunately contact lenses are not recommended. Glasses can be worn and we can provide you with goggles that can be worn over glasses.

Can I wear a Go-Pro during the flight?
Yes if it is on a secure harness on your wrist or chest only and it will be checked by the pilot before the flight.

Can the pilot perform aerobatics during my wing walk?
Wing Walking is an extreme experience; therefore, no aerobatics are permitted. However, the Wing Walker will have the opportunity to tailor their flight with the Pilot to achieve the maximum adrenaline experience or a more relaxed flight, if they wish.

Can I communicate with the pilot during my flight?
The Wing Walker can only communicate with the pilot by using hand signals, which are fully explained at the health & safety briefing.

Can I bring family and friends along to watch?
There are no restrictions on the number of guests that can watch your flight. To avoid the possibility of a serious accident, alcohol consumption is not allowed under any circumstances on the airfield. The Wing Walk Company cannot delay flight if family & friends have not arrived in time.
The airfield has a café serving hot and cold food and drinks. Toilets, car parking and excellent viewing facilities of the wing walking.
Well-behaved dogs are allowed on a lead at the airfield.
