Rainbows Annual Charity Ball

For more than two decades, Rainbows has been providing life-limited children, young people and their families with the care and support they need to improve their quality of life. As the only hospice of our kind in the East Midlands, we’ve helped to create happy memories for all those affected by a life-threatening condition. But with only around 15% of our resources coming from government funding, the delivery of these services is made possible by the generous support we receive from our patrons, ambassadors, partners, donors and trustees.

As one of our long-standing partners, we have to thank award-winning branding agency, Champions UK plc, for one of our biggest fundraising events of the year – the annual Rainbows Charity Ball.
Held at London’s Grand Dorchester every year, the annual Rainbows Charity Ball brings together a string of celebrities and high-profile guests from the entertainment- and business worlds. Over the past several years, the event has attracted the likes of Gregg Wallace, Vanessa Feltz and Charlie Ross. Working with a vast array of celebrities as part of their business, Champions UK regularly features many of the celebrities in attendance as after dinner speakers or motivational speakers at various events across the United Kingdom.
Combining exciting entertainment with an evening of competitive bidding, the annual Rainbows Charity Ball sees guests experience a wonderful time raising money for charity. Providing a simple and engaging way of raising money for our charity, Champions UK’s newly developed CharityBID app sees the event’s guests go head to head in an attempt to win exciting auction prizes. With unique items such as sports memorabilia up for grabs, the event also attracts several notable names in the world of sport, many of which work with Champions UK as football speakers or Olympic speakers.
Speaking about the event, Managing Director, Matthew Hayes said: “Since day one we have always wanted to help Rainbows in continuing the incredible work that they do.

“Holding the annual ball is not only a great way to bring everyone together, but it also helps to create awareness and raise the vital funds that they need to give the children and their families some well-deserved fun.

“The night is our biggest fundraising event and so far, alongside many other events, we are proud to have raised over £2.5million for Rainbows.”

Rainbows’ partnership with Champions UK has also led to several notable celebrities becoming our patrons. One of these celebrities is international cricketer Matthew Hoggard MBE, who represented England on an impressive 93 occasions. Having excelled in his role as the captain of Leicester County Cricket Club for several years, Matthew has since become a sought-after name among cricket speakers. Together, our patrons play an important part in raising the public profile of our work.

Thanks to our supporters and staff, Rainbows has been able to provide crucial support to those who need it most. With your help, we will continue to brighten the lives of children and young people for many years to come.
