Where’s it Bin? raises £20k

Businesses in the region have helped raise £20,000 for Rainbows by taking part in our ‘Where’s it Bin?’ scheme.

Ten months ago we launched our ‘Where’s It Bin?’ campaign, where we drop three branded wheelie bins – Barry, Bertie and Betty – to businesses, organisations and clubs for one week. People are encouraged to fill them with unwanted saleable goods for our shops. At the end of the week, we collect the bins and all the donations. Now more than 2,000 bags have been donated and the campaign has raised £20,000 towards our work.

Tom Stanyard, Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Rainbows, said: “We are delighted to announce that businesses and groups across the East Midlands have helped to raise such an incredible amount and we thank all of them for looking after Barry, Bertie and Betty, but also want to thank everyone who has donated their unwanted items.

“The bins are always looking for somewhere new to visit and the idea of keeping the collection bins at the workplace or an office is so people who want to donate their unwanted items don’t have to go out of their way to do so. Whether you’re a team of three or 300, you could help make a huge difference by filling a bin with your unwanted items.”
