Values, Culture and Inclusion (VCI) Champions
Our VCI Champions promote and embed the charity’s values, behaviours, and inclusive culture while connecting people across the organisation to share ideas and drive positive change. They inspire action by bringing purpose and values to Rainbows in a meaningful way, monitor progress, celebrate success, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. By being visible, encouraging open conversations, and supporting a speak-up culture, they raise awareness and strengthen engagement. Our VCI Champions also create an internal newsletter, THRIVE, which shares inspiring stories, valuable insights, and updates that reflect our shared commitment to embedding our values.

Mental Health First Aiders
The MHFA group aims to provide initial support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. We are trained to recognise the first signs of distress, offer a safe space for conversation and help support and guide individuals with professional help, where appropriate.
Our Mental Health First Aiders also provide resources, podcast recommendations, social media links, information on our employee assistant programme and any other relevant information.

Freedom to Speak Up
Freedom to Speak Up at Rainbows is about creating a safe, open, and supportive culture where staff feel empowered to raise concerns or share suggestions without fear of retaliation.
• Staff can speak up openly, confidentially, or anonymously.
• WorkInConfidence, a secure, anonymous platform, is available to support two-way communication and highlight potential issues early.
• Rainbows also has an external Freedom to Speak Up Guardian who offers independent support and guidance to staff.
The goal is to ensure all voices are heard and acted upon, helping to build a positive, transparent, and safe working environment.
