Challenge the Wild
Want to take on a challenge like never before?
Join us on our Corporate Challenge for 2024, Challenge the Wild, for a weekend of adventure, team work and facing fears all whilst achieving something incredible in aid of Rainbows!
Led by ex-army and mountaineering professionals from special outdoor events company, Challenge the Wild, you will explore some of the most beautiful spots in the UK, whilst taking part in a range of exhilarating activities along the way.
What can I expect?
This challenge is a thrilling and uplifting outdoor adventure. Before you know it, you will be facing fears and achieving more than you ever believed you could.
We will take you out of your comfort zone, but you will have support along the whole way to guide you along, from both the highly-trained instructors and your team mates who will be cheering you on!
Day 1: Arrive at the meeting point in Coniston at 9:30am to drop off your gear and head off for your day of adventure. This will include rock & river scrambling through caves, tunnels and up hillsides, trekking, canyoning, abseiling and waterfall jumping, all whilst you take in the incredible Lake District scenery.
In the evening, you will enjoy dinner with your team mates at our private site (which has an all-important bar!), along with entertainment, mental fitness and team games. When the evening is over, your sleeping bag will have never looked so inviting as you snuggle up and camp under the stars in a comfortable and spacious bell tent (accommodating up to 5 people, single occupancy tents can be provided if required).
Day 2: After a hearty breakfast and a hot shower in the private shower and toilet block on site, you and the entire Challenge the Wild team will take a steady hike to stunning waterfalls and the beautiful Lake Coniston, the perfect way to end the adventure and soak up the last of the views. At around midday you will say your goodbyes and head off home!

Who can join?
Both individuals and teams of any size are encouraged to join. This can certainly be a brilliant team building activity, but even if you come alone you will soon be part of a wider team and bonded for life with your team mates!
You don’t have to be fighting fit or as strong as an ox to take part, a positive attitude and a good sense of humour are far more important.
What do I need?
All specialist equipment for the activities is provided and the whole event is fully catered, so you don’t need to worry about food unless you want to bring extra snacks or anything specific.
You will be given a packing list for other things such as sleeping bag, hiking boots, waterproof clothing etc. to make sure you have everything you may need.

- Entry Fee: £75 per person
- Minimum sponsorship target: £500 per person
If your company is submitting a team to take part in the event, why not see if they will cover your entry fee or even the full cost of your place on the challenge (£175 per person), meaning more of your fundraising will go directly to supporting Rainbows families!
