Hydrotherapy at Rainbows Hospice

Rainbows has a hydrotherapy pool which can be used for a range of purposes, including therapy sessions with our physiotherapists, relaxing sessions and sessions that are aimed at fun for the whole family. The pool is carefully regulated and meets national guidelines for water quality and temperature. Its design also ensures that the children, young people and their families can all safely access the pool.

The use of warm water has many benefits and is known to assist with relaxation, pain relief, reduction of aching muscles and stiff joints and where movement is limited by weakness, the water can helps to support limbs, reducing the effort needed to move. The experience of being in water can offer a sense of freedom, it can also allow greater opportunities for interaction and experiences that cannot be accessed in other environments.
