Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Palliative Care
Full-Time (37.5hours) predominantly Monday – Friday
Salary: Band 7 agenda for change

Role Summary

Join our incredible team of Rainbows Nurses to deliver specialist palliative care to babies, children, young people and their families across the East Midlands. Rainbows Hospice for Children and young People is a ten bedded unit based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. We are a large multi-disciplinary nurse led team.

The demand for this specialist care is increasing and is more important than ever so we are seeking to appoint a Band 7 nurse to work alongside our existing team to deliver holistic, family centred, end of life, palliative and short break care for children and young people (aged 0 to 25 years) These children and young people often have complex needs and some are ventilator dependent. We also provide care to our children and young people at home. Our Family Support Team offer emotional and bereavement support for the whole family.

If you are a Registered Paediatric Nurse we would like to hear from you. You will have experience in both paediatric and palliative care nursing. We would like a Palliative Care qualification or a willingness to work towards one. Proven leadership skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care are essential, as well as evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months.

You will act as a resource and provide training to the multi-professional teams to influence palliative care, symptom management and end of life care development across the region. You will be part of the Senior Nurse on call rota.
