Julie Bradshaw Swims around Manhattan Island for Rainbows

Dr Julie Bradshaw of Loughborough completed a mammoth swim around Manhattan Island, New York, to raise almost £1,000 for Rainbows.

She has become the first documented woman to swim around the island in New York, using the butterfly stroke. She completed the 28.5 mile swim in nine hours 38 minutes.

She visited Rainbows on 1st September to hand in her sponsorship money. She was given a guided tour of the new facilities and took time to meet Philip Yorkstone, Hydrotherapy Pool Co-ordinator, and Tom and James Parkin who regularly use the pool.

Maidwell Hall School raises over £66K for Rainbows

Every year  'leavers' from Maidwell Hall School in Northamptonshire undertake challenge events to help raise vital funds for their chosen Charity .

This years challenges included a sponsored walk in the Lake District and cycling Hadrian's wall, in which the students are accompanied by their parents and willing teachers from the school.

A STRONG group of Stilton Striders Running Club members travelled to Saffron Lane in Leicester on Friday to take part in the 100-Lap Challenge.

It was a competitive event, but run in the spirit of fun and mutual support by all teams, some competing in fancy dress to raise money for the Loughborough-based Rainbows hospice

HELP LOCAL LIFE-LIMITED CHILDREN AND WIN UP TO £3,000!

Rainbows Hospice for Children & Young People is urging people from across the East Midlands to pledge just £1 to help care for the children, young people and families it supports by playing its annual Super Draw lottery.

The Summer Super Draw – now in its fifth year – plays a crucial part in raising the necessary funds needed to keep Rainbows running each year, and this year the prize fund has been increased to a total of £5,000, with a top prize of £3,000.
