The cast of hit stage show Breakfast at Tiffany’s, which toured across the East Midlands, treated our families and staff to a performance.
Eleven members of the ensemble visited Rainbows to meet our children and young people and find out more about the work we do.
After touring the facilities, actress Emily Atack – who starred in The Inbetweeners - entertained our families and staff with a version of Moon River and cast members sang Frozen’s Let it Go. They also signed memorabilia for our children and young people.
Charlie De Melo, who plays Jose and has appeared in The Interceptor, Casualty and Doctors, set up the visit because his mum, Lynne, works as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Rainbows. He said: “It was wonderful to have the opportunity to visit Rainbows while taking the show to the East Midlands.
“I know very well how wonderful the work is that Rainbows does for its children and their families. What was nice for me, was to be able to facilitate and introduce new people to that wonderful work. And on a personal level it was particularly nice to hear the admiration that the staff themselves have for the work my mum does. Over the years it's become normalised just how worthy her work is in my eyes, so to hear her colleagues speak so highly of her was a really beautiful moment for me.
“We also hope that our visit and the singing brightened up the day of everyone at Rainbows.”
