Wilkinson Store Scores Donation for Rainbows
The Wilkinson store, on Front Road, Arnold, launched its re-branded image on Thursday 7th April, with a match made in heaven, as Steve Hodge, former England and Nottingham Forest football legend, officially unveiled the home and garden retailer’s new look to the public.
To mark the official re-opening, pupils from Robert Mellors Primary & Nursery School, who had brought along colourful spring themed posters specifically created for the day, joined Wilkinsons’ retired chairman, Tony Wilkinson, head of buying, Frankie Adams, and store manager, Paul Jeffs, in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
As part of Wilkinsons’ commitment to the local community, the store gave Steve Hodge a donation to the charity of his choice, The Rainbows Children’s Hospice, to help towards the cost of the ongoing running of the charity and fundraising events. As a thank you for the bright posters, which went down a storm with customers, the children from Robert Mellors Primary & Nursery School were also presented with a voucher to spend on arts & crafts products within the store.
Steve Hodge said: “It has been an absolute pleasure joining Wilkinsons today as the store unveiled its rebranded image, and I know that the donation has been gratefully received by Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
“It’s encouraging to see that Wilkinsons is actively helping local charities as customers like to see the businesses they use supporting the local community. It encourages greater trust and portrays a positive ethos.”
