Following the huge success of our Snowdon Trek in 2021, we are bringing it back again!  Experience the sights of North Wales like never before!  Along the way, you’ll experience spectacular views and make new friends!

On the day you will take the most famous route to the summit. You will leave from Pen-Y-Pass and follow the Pyg Track as it winds its way up. The trail sits below the dramatic Crib Goch and above the pristine Glaslyn (Blue Lake), offering fantastic views at every point.

As you gain height, Snowdon itself comes into view, before a final steep push to the summit. The descent down the Miner’s track is gentler on the knees and makes for a nice and enjoyable walk back down to the Pen-Y-Pass. If the sun is shining, the banks of Glaslyn offer a wonderful place to stop and admire the impressive mountain terrain above you.

Climbing Snowdon is an excellent challenge and does require a reasonable head for heights and some experience of walking over uneven surfaces and rocks.  You will complete your challenge in a small group, with an experienced guide to support you, so you can focus on enjoying the experience.

What you'll get from Rainbows for taking part?
By taking part in this challenge, you're helping us continue to be there for local children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We know we couldn't do the work we do without your support, this is why by taking part in this trek you'll get from us:

Transport to and from Snowdon - this will depart Rainbows Hospice at 4am on the Saturday with a stop in Swadlincote on route. Alternatively, participants can make their own way there and meet the team at the Pen-y-Pass car park (charges apply at the car park).   Parking at Pen-y-Pass is limited so we strongly advise you to book as soon as possible.  A park and ride service is available in Nant Peris.  Participants need to arrive at the car park, register and be ready to begin climbing at 8.45am (please note, there is an additional £10 cost for the coach).
