New to trekking and looking for the perfect challenge, while supporting Rainbows? Come and join us as we take on Snowdon.

New to trekking and looking for the perfect challenge, while supporting Rainbows? Come and join us as we take on Snowdon.

This challenge will see us follow the Pyg track to the summit, walking from our campside to the top of Pen y Pass, ascending steadily with the imposing Crib Goch directly above and amazing views to Llyn Glaslyn below. During this supported trek, we'll get to see dramatic views as far as the eyes can see. Once we've reached the summit, we'll stop for plenty of celebratory photographs, a chance to enjoy the views and take in our surroundings before beginning our descent along the more gradual Miners Path, where we'll be treated to more stunning views. The fun doesn't stop there... once we've made it back to camp, we'll celebrate with a spectacular meal.

What you can expect from the challenge:

Day 1: Meet early morning at the campsite for registration and a full briefing on the day ahead, before we set off walking. The day will see us travel approximately 12 miles to the top of Pen y Pass and along the Pyg track. Once we've reached the summit, we'll make our way down back to camp for some celebrations.
Day 2: After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, it's time to say goodbye and to make our way home - with lots of memories and photos of a fantastic challenge completed.

How much does it cost?

Registration Fee: £75

Then there are two options when it comes to funding the challenge:

  • Option A - Minimum Sponsorship: £420 (half goes to Rainbows, the rest covers the cost of the challenge and goes to our partners, Global Adventure)
  • Option B - Self-Funded: £210

Whether you are taking part as an individual or as a team with friends, team spirit will be flying high on the challenge.

How fit do I need to be?

Although the challenge is designed to push your boundaries - however it is achievable by most people as long as you fitness train beforehand. Remember, you are trekking to the summit of the highest mountain in Wales, so the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy this challenge.
