Knightsbridge Christmas Grotto for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People

Get the festive feeling with a special video call from Santa this Christmas!

Please note, this is a third party event in support of Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

Saaaaaanta! Our friends at Knightsbridge Estate Agents know him, and they've arranged for some Christmas magic for little boys and girls in the East Midlands.

The team at Knightsbridge have been in touch with Santa and his elves, to arrange for Santa to take some time out of his busy schedule in December and have Zoom calls with lots of lucky children - all while supporting Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

The magic of Christmas can be spread through your house, by booking a five minute Zoom call with Santa between 1 December and 16 December 2020. We're sure the faces of the lucky children who get to speak to Santa will light up with excitement. Along with individual Zoom calls, Santa has also had a chat with Mrs Claus, who'll hold the camera while Santa pre-records video messages too - meaning he can speak to lots of children ahead of Christmas.

Santa's team of elves have asked our friends at Knightsbridge to share some important FAQs - and you'll find these below, giving you all the information you need about booking a Zoom call or arranging a pre-recorded message and what you and your family can expect.

All money raised will be donated to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, meaning your call with Santa will not only help to spread Christmas joy in your house - but also across hundreds of families affected by life-limiting conditions, living here in the East Midlands.

Because Santa is very busy this time of year, there are a limited number of calls available - so be quick and book yours today!



Overview of how the live video calling will work

The call will take place on Zoom and you will be asked to book a date, fill in a child’s information form (detailing the child’s likes and dislikes) and make payment at the time of booking.

After this is done, you will receive an email confirmation. This email will have the selected date and time of your call and a Zoom meeting link. Live calls via Zoom with Santa and his elf will last approximately five minutes. 

Following the call, you will receive a video recording of the call sent via email with a link to download it – usually within 24 hours.

Overview of how the pre-recorded video will work

Filming will begin the week commencing 23 November 2020 and the videos will be sent via text message and email on 1 December. After this, the turnaround for videos is seven days.
Upon booking you will be asked to fill in an information form about your child’s likes and dislikes, this will be incorporated into the video message. Each video message will last approx. 90 seconds. 

Is the video call and video for adults and children?

Yes, everybody is welcome to use our Santa service. It’s a fun-filled interactive experience.

How long is the video call/pre-recorded video to Santa?

The live video call to Santa is approx. 3-5 minutes. Some video calls may be slightly longer or shorter.

The pre-recorded video message will last approx. 90 seconds.

What languages can Santa speak?

Santa can speak English and Elfish. 

What will Santa talk about?

You will fill in a form about your child and then we will base the information provided on the topics in the call or video. We will do our best to get Santa to ask them to keep their room tidy!

How is payment made for the video/call?

Payment is conveniently made through PayPal. It is safe and secure. Credit Card / Debit Cards are also accepted through PayPal.

How much money will Rainbows receive from the call/video?

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People will receive 100% of the money – Knightsbridge Estate Agents have kindly provided the service free of charge meaning that 100% of the money paid will go directly to Rainbows. 

After I have paid for the video/call – what is next?

If you have booked a live Zoom call – you will have selected a time and date, you will be emailed the details of this call. Following the live call you will receive a copy of the Zoom call.

Zoom is a free to download app on your phone, tablet or PC / laptop. Please ensure your device is capable of using Zoom.

It is strongly recommended that you test your internet connection / mobile signal to ensure it is suitable for Zoom.

What is the last day I can book and video or schedule a call?

The last day for requesting videos and calls is 16 December 2020.
