Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Latest Government advice and guidance

At Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, the health and safety of our children, young people, families, staff and volunteers is paramount. Therefore, in line with government guidelines, we will be temporarily reducing some of our services.

We will continue with our end of life care and we have increased our virtual support services to our families to ensure they have regular contact with their usual support workers. Our day care and respite care has temporarily stopped but we will be working with local hospitals to see how we can support other families in need during this difficult time.

We are in the process of contacting all of our families to update them. Although there is always some disappointment, because our families love coming to Rainbows, they do understand that we are putting their health and wellbeing first.

For Families:

If you are a Rainbows Family and have any questions, please contact your Family Support worker directly or contact: 01509 638000

Working with other hospices, we have put together some guidance for families to help answer any questions you may have about the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and how it impacts you. Click here to visit our family information page:

We are therefore limiting external visitors to the Hospice where possible and request that all service users, staff, volunteers, contractors, relatives and friends consider whether they could be a potential carrier of the Coronavirus and therefore pose a risk to others before visiting us here at Rainbows or any of our shops.

If you are a Rainbows family, we will be in touch with you about the changes to visiting the Hospice.

For Supporters:

While our Rainbows fundraising staff aren’t out and about in the community at present, they are still able to actively support you with your amazing fundraising over the phone, by email and on social media, so Rainbows can continue to support those families going through the most difficult of times
