Employee Involvement

Involving Staff

Bringing your staff together at work to raise money or give time to our life-limited children is a great way to boost morale and strengthen teams.  It will bring a whole world of benefits to your company.

Good for Rainbows, good for you!

Whether through fundraising or volunteering, your people’s involvement with Rainbows will help:

  • Improve corporate reputation
  • Provide team-building opportunities
  • Improve staff recruitment and retention
  • Generate excellent PR opportunities
  • Your company meet its CSR responsibilities
  • Encourage consumer engagement and generate word of mouth
  • Establish improved brand affinity and equity
  • Improve customer loyalty
  • Develop your people’s skill base

Recent research conducted for Business in the Community by Research International* proves that employees actively involved in community investment activities are much more likely to find their work interesting and recommend their company to family and friends. They also found that being involved in community activities helps them to manage people more effectively.

So how can your staff get involved?

Volunteering is a great way to support Rainbows. It can take many forms, from team challenges to individuals using their business skills for community projects. Challenging and rewarding, it’s ideal for building on people’s strengths and developing new skills.

Fundraising is a simple, straightforward and fun way to bring people together to support our work.  From cake baking to dress down days, these kind of fundraising events bring a little laughter to your workplace and are very popular.

Matched giving is a joint donation by staff and company. Employees make an individual donation, either a percentage of their salary or by taking part in a sponsored event or organising their own fundraising event, and your company matches it, pound for pound.

It’s a brilliant way to motivate staff and build team spirit by bringing the company together to help our life-limited children and their families.

Secondment is where your company provides a paid member of staff to work with us for up to six months. The individual gets to broaden their skills while bringing their experience and enthusiasm to Rainbows.

Sporting activities are great ways to get your staff active and raise money. From runs to sponsored walks and football matches – the list really is endless.

Challenge events could include running a marathon, trekking in Nepal, or from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Whatever your staff are up for!

Themed nights are very popular with most workforces. From James Bond to Abba – it’s all about what your staff will enjoy the most.

Dress down days always go down well.  It’s fun seeing who goes the whole hog and dresses as Elvis for the day!
